For users in Europe

Stereobox is offered to people in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, and its servers are in Frankfurt, Germany. The GDPR therefore applies to European users under Article 3(2), and the privacy policy is written to it.

Because Shader Bytes is established outside the Union, Article 27 GDPR requires a representative inside the Union — a named person or company in an EU member state that European users and regulators can address instead of writing to India. This is a real obligation with real fines, and it is not satisfied by having a server in Frankfurt.

EU representative: EU representative to be appointed

If Shader Bytes registers a company in Germany, this changes: the EU representative is no longer needed, and the German entity must instead publish a full Impressum under §5 DDG, including its register court, HRB number, VAT identification number under §27a UStG and a person responsible for content under §18(2) MStV.

Consumer disputes

We are not obliged to take part in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, and do not do so voluntarily.

The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform ceased operating on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available. Consumers in the EU can instead approach a national alternative dispute resolution body, or the European Consumer Centre in their country.

Liability for links

Stereobox links to sites we do not run — the app stores, our payment providers, Google's advertising policies. We checked each for unlawful content when we added it, but we do not monitor them continuously and cannot be responsible for what they publish. Tell us if you find something wrong and we will remove the link.

Copyright

Music, artwork and video on Stereobox belong to the artists who uploaded them, not to us. The Stereobox software, design and name belong to Shader Bytes. To report infringement, see the terms.
