In short

Settings → Delete account, and it is gone immediately. No waiting period, no reactivation. Two things survive, and this page explains exactly why.

How to delete your Stereobox account, and what happens to your data when you do.

In the app

  1. Open Stereobox and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to More and choose Delete account.
  3. Confirm. The account is deleted immediately — there is no waiting period and no way to reactivate it.

By email

If you cannot sign in, write to support@stereobox.io from the address on the account. We delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Deleted immediatelyKept, and why
Your email address, username, display name, bio and picture · your likes, playlists and cue points · your listening history · your messages · your device push tokens · your subscription record · the record of you accepting the terms

Records of purchases you paid for, with your identity removed. German tax and commercial law requires financial records to be kept for ten years (§147 AO, §257 HGB). We cannot delete them, so we strip them of anything pointing at you instead.

Music you uploaded as an artist, and any exclusive sale of it. Other people bought licences to that music, and those rights cannot disappear because you closed your account. Ask us if you want a specific track taken down.

Two things worth knowing first

Music you added from your own device was never uploaded to us, so there is nothing on our side to delete — removing the app removes it.

Cancel your subscription before you delete. A subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store is billed by them, not by us, and deleting your Stereobox account does not stop it. Cancel it in the store first, under Subscriptions — the refunds page has the steps.

Would a copy do instead?

If you want your data rather than an ending, Settings → Download my data gives you a machine-readable copy of everything, and leaves the account alone.
