AI content policy
Stereobox welcomes music made with generative tools, as long as it is labelled honestly and does not take anything from other artists.
Label every song honestly
- Generated: the music was made mainly with generative tools, even if you edited, arranged or mixed it.
- Played: the music was performed by people, even if it was recorded or processed digitally.
Listeners filter by these labels, so a wrong label misleads them. If you are unsure, choose Generated.
Not allowed
- Voice clones or imitations of real singers or artists, alive or dead, without their written permission.
- Songs that copy or closely recreate someone else's recording, melody or lyrics.
- Using another artist's name, image or style in a way that makes people think it is their work.
- Uploading the same generated track many times, or in bulk, to fill the catalogue.
What happens if a label is wrong
Anyone can report a wrong label. If a label is wrong, we correct it and tell the artist. If an artist keeps labelling songs wrongly on purpose, we remove those songs and can add a strike to the profile. See Strikes.
Rights in generated music
In some countries, including the United States, music made only by a machine may not be protected by copyright. That affects what a commercial license for such a song can promise. To be confirmed by counsel
When you upload, you confirm that you own or control the recording and that it does not break this policy.
